Emma and Rob
I have been a little lax in posting recently, this has mainly been due to problems with my wordpress blog that I’ve not had the time to fix until now.. but now I am back, and want to share a wedding I shot last year at Stoodleigh Courtin North Devon. I have to say, this is an amazing venue with so much character and so far my favourite location to shoot a wedding.
Stoodleigh Court was built in 1881 and is full of charm and character that really enhances the wedding day.
Emma and Rob had a gorgeous late July wedding with the best of a Devon summer. Emma looked stunning and so happy on her big day.
Emma was escorted down the grand staircase to the truly magnificent hall with a huge stone fireplace.
I can only describe Emma and Rob as one of the happiest fun loving couples I have had the pleasure to meet.
Sometimes, words are not enough to explain how joyous a bride can be on her wedding day.. so I’ll let these next two photos do the talking for them.
The dress was beautiful and looked amazing on the pretty bride.
But through the entire day, the humour of both Rob and Emma shone through.. making the day very enjoyable for all
Next followed a series of window lit Bride and Groom shots that scream beauty and elegance
As stunning as the interior of Stoodleigh Court was, the light outside was delightful.. a warm romantic glow in the fields surrounding the grounds of the country home.
Ever the gentleman, Rob helps his bride through the tall grass
and a tender moment shared..
..before their first dance as a married couple
All in all, this wedding was an absolute joy to shoot with a most gorgeous and happy couple in a stunning location. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the photos as much as they enjoyed the day.

I am a HUGE fan of Black and White photography! You captured my visual imagination with a wonderful topic. Great eye for detail on positioning the hem of the bridal gown in an gorgeous arc. Fashion, Black and White and crisp, clear shots – I’d say you nailed it on Super Bowl Sunday!
Beautiful couple! Great photography, Scot! Love the Fields of Gold shot.
What a beautiful setting and photos and couple…
Great pictures
Great shots. Beautiful!
Thanks for the update. Photos are really beautiful.
So beautiful. Love the black/white photos and the location is spectacular. You have a knack for capturing the details – the look on the bride’s face is priceless.
Classic wedding shots in a classic setting. Excellent.
These are some great photographs. I agree with Ellen that the black and white photos work really well, especially when looking at a beautiful old venue.
That’s a beautiful setting for a wedding.
The black and white photos were my favorites.
What great photos – looks like a superb venue and a very happy couple. I wish them well.
Anybody who can get me to talk positively about weddings or marriage has obviously done a superb job. Congratulations!
A portfolio piece of a wedding.
An extraordinary setting for a wedding. I’m sure the photos will be enjoyed for many years to come. You definitely have a talent for capturing special moments.
Incredible images, and welcome back to blogging. Hint: check out Triberr (I wont pester you with the link, of course – a non-no in blog comments), to get more exposure. I’m just a user, not an owner of Triberr, but it does wonders for my blog.
Those are all beautiful photos. You did great!
Wonderful work mate; thanks for sharing!
Beautiful shots! a pleasure to browse.
